Lab Presentation

What type of container keep cold water the

longest

OPOL BENZ MIX JAME .. 1109

Objective of Project

We are finding which kind of containers

keep water cold the longest

Hypothesis

We were thinking that styrofoam would keep water cold the

longest because styrofoam contains billions of trapped gas
bubbles. Gases hinder heat conduction because their
molecules are very far apart making it difficult
to let other molecules collide.we were thinking we are
going to measure by putting ice and water.

Background
Information

What is Heat Transfer

The process where heat moves from one body

or substance to another by radiation,
conduction or convection

Experimental Design

Materials Used
1.Water Bottle (5)
2.Styrofoam
3.Foil
4.Wax paper
5.Fabric
6.No Material

We need to keep both the

volume and the initial
temperature of the water
the same.

Procedure

!

1. Measure every material same width , height and length

1. Cut all the materials in to square shape which able to
wrap around bottle (Foam,Foil,Wax paper)
1. Wrap every materials to every bottle filled with water
1. Check temperature

, every 5 minutes

1. Compare temperature each materials used

1. Record Results

Results
FOIL

FABRIC

WAX PAPER

FOAM

WINNER !!

Conclusion
We could see that Foam is a poor conductor of heat , which makes
heat outside enters at a very slow rate.Foam has good insulating
properties because it has millions of tiny air bubbles which slow
heat
