Switches OR SAN SWITCH
Configure the SAN Switches Connecting to the SAN Switch Move the shipping plug from the SAN Switch 2/16 serial ports. Connect the serial cable to the SAN Switch 2/16 serial ports. Connect the other end of the serial cable to an RS-232 serial port on the workstation. If no RS-232 serial port is available on the workstation, the adapter on the end of the serial cable can be removed to use the RJ-45 connector to create a serial connection Power on the workstation and establish a connection to the switch using a terminal emulator application (such as HyperTerminal). Using HyperTerminal (or similar application) configure the Port Settings as follows: Bits per second: 9600 Data bits: 8 Parity: None Stop bits: 1 Flow control: None Also over the web you can connect to the san switch directly by connecting a pc to the n/w port of the san switch. Default ip address of the san switch is 10.77.77.77. By typing http://10.77.77.77 on the web browser the san switch can be accessed.
