The steering column is secured to the bonnet center using split-pins and washers to allow free rotation without movement in or out. Assembly of the bonnet is tricky as the steering column must be put in place before nailing and gluing the timber pieces together, since it will not be possible to remove the steering column once the bonnet is assembled. Dimensions and sizes of each part are provided on the next page.

The assembly of the Bonnet is a little tricky. Before the pieces of timber is nailed and
glued together, the Steering Column (Steel bar) must be put into position. Once the
bonnet assembly is put together, it won't be possible to remove the Steering Column.
