Choices Lesson - Freedom Writers Intro

This lesson plan introduces students to the film Freedom Writers by having them role-play scenarios about choices and their consequences. Students will role-play situations in small groups and map out their choices and outcomes. They will then present their role-plays to the class and discuss how they relate to themes in Freedom Writers and real life. After the activity, students will reflect individually on a significant choice they made. The next class will involve watching Freedom Writers, an exit card reflection, and discussing challenges on a recent test. The goal is for students to apply lessons on choices and consequences to their own experiences.
