1. SANTAS SECRET SHOP There will be a Christmas

Gift Shop during the week of December 15 18 at Keicher
Elementary. We will be having special shopping sessions
on Monday, December 15th and Tuesday, December 16th for
Arnold students from 3:30 6:30 p.m. Watch the
newsletter for more details.
2. ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT Letters were sent home
this week to parents acknowledging their students for
receiving As and Bs on their report cards.
Congratulations to everyone! Keep up the good work!

3. PARENTS - If you have moved or changed jobs, please

let the office know about new addresses, emergency
phone numbers, etc. It is very important to have a contact
number in case of illness or injury. Thank you in advance
for your cooperation.
4. LOST AND FOUND - If your child has lost a coat, hat,
or mittens, please have him/her check the lost and found
located in the Keicher foyer. We have quite an
assortment of items that have not been claimed.
Unclaimed items will be donated to our Keicher clothes
closet on December 19th.
5. PARENTS As a reminder, please know that students
are not allowed to bring items to school that are
distracting and unnecessary such as toys, stuffed animals,
iPods, etc. We want all students to be engaged in school
activities and instruction.
6. We have had a few cases of Hand Foot and Mouth
Disease and Strep Throat this past week. Notes were
sent home in the affected classrooms. Just a few things
to keep in mind: Practicing good hand hygiene, sneeze or
cough into sleeve or tissue and disposing of it properly,
and keeping students home with a fever. Thank you for
reporting all contagious diseases to the school office.
***Please remember to call us and bring in a doctors
excuse when your child misses school. ***
7. EASTERN BRANCH LIBRARY HAPPENINGS Heres
to a great Holiday Season for all! Here at Eastern, we are
planning to make this a special place for kids and their
families. We have some great activities in December and
in the coming months. Santa Claus (and Mrs. Claus, too)
will be coming to the Eastern Branch Library on Saturday,
December 13th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. There will be music
and refreshments as Santa reads stories and hears gift
request from happy kids. We have our own gifts for the
kids too. Hope to see you at the Eastern branch, located
at 3125 East Michigan Avenue, right next to Arbys. Call
us at 788-4074 for more information.
8. The winter weather has been unpredictable so far this
year. Remember this is Michigan, so please be sure your
students are prepared for what each day brings us.
Students need to get outside for some fresh air during
the day, but we do not send them out if the wind chill is
below zero.
