Installing TimeWorks
In order to start TimeWorks, the user will need to
install the executable file, which can be downloaded
from our website.
Once the file has been downloaded, double click it
to launch the setup wizard. Follow the steps for a
successful installation.

Requirements for the installation:


- Windows XP or above
- Java
- Internet Connection (Broadband is preferred)

Once the program has been installed, a shortcut will


be added to the desktop. Double click the shortcut
on the desktop to launch the program.

Using TimeWorks
Using TimeWorks as a Student User
Upon opening the software, the user will be greeted
with a login window.

A student user will enter their username and


password that has been registered with
TimeWorks1. Click Login to continue.

Note: If user is using the demo version of the software, simply leave the username and
password fields blank and click Login.

Next, the user will be greeted with the following


screen:

1. This tab will display the view for finding an


available room.
2. These options allow the user to search for rooms
based on special criteria, such as how many
seats a room holds, what building it is in, and
more.
3. This section displays a calendar-like list of the
available times of the day and the days
themselves.
4. These options allow the user to display more
detailed information about the room they found
in the purple section, and furthermore allows the
user to reserve that room via a request button.

Once the request button has been clicked, the


following screen will appear:

If the user had selected a room in the previous


screen, then this window will be populated with the
correct information. The user will then have to type
in text in the the two circled sections. Once the form
is all filled out, the user can send this request to the
Admin for approval.

Using TimeWorks as an Admin User


When using TimeWorks as an Admin user, said user
will be greeted with a similar screen upon launching
the software.

The difference is that an Admin will have special


privileges that the Student User will not have; the
login screen, however, looks and behaves the same
way.2

If the user is using the demo software, the username root and a blank password is all that is
required to log in and demo the functionality.

The Admin user will then have the same options as


the student user listed above but with one addition.
The Admin tab will be available and is as follows:

From this window, the Admin will have a list of


requests sent in from Student users. Upon clicking
on a request, the Admin can the approve or decline
the request.
