Research Question: What qualifications and degrees would one need to become a speech
pathologist?
Working Thesis Statement: A speech pathologist definitely needs a Masters degree, at the very
least, they must have a good sense of friendliness and compassion, and must also remain
professional at all times.
Refined Thesis Statement: A speech pathologist must have a minimum of Masters degree, the
correct registrations and licenses, the must be very friendly and welcoming to patients, and have
to remain professional in difficult situations.

This source contains a lot of career information. It asks Do I want to be a speech
therapist? Also, it explains that several people who enter this field of work, often end up
moving offices very often. Also talking about how a masters degree may be the minimum
education, and providing a search area on the website itself to help someone look for a school

near them that offers the courses needed to achieve this degree. It talks about how in most states
licensing is required. This website can help me with my research paper with all of the
information on mainly what is needed to enter the field of work.

This website provides crucial information on what Speech pathologists do, things such as
their duties, what they can and cannot treat, how to teach patients to improve, while also learning
themselves. It tells about how much they make per year/per hour starting out, where they work,
etc. It also contains information on most workplaces, and similar job opportunities. The website
explains the education requirements to become a speech pathologist, the licenses, Certifications
and registrations needed to get into the field. It lists the most important qualities that all speechlanguage pathologists should have and maintain. This source explains how the outlook for jobs
are, providing me with a very good amount of data on all topics included in the website. This can
help me by having the basics of every topic I may have questions about.
