The Canon CanoScan LiDE 90 scanner is best for scanning books and magazines rather than loose documents. To scan, place the document face down on the scanner, open Image Capture, select the area to scan by dragging a box over the preview image, then click scan. The scanned document will then open in Preview and save automatically to the user's pictures folder.

Scanning Documents with Canon CanoScan LiDE 90

This scanner works best for scanning books and magazines. If you have
several looseleaf documents consider using the ScanSnap scanner.

Getting Started:
1. Place your document in the lower left corner of the scanner face down so
that the top of the document is facing you.

2.Open up the Image Capture application in the dock

3.A window will appear with a preview of your scan.


From this window you can:

< change between color, black & white

< Increase resolution for a higher quality


image

< Choose a save location


< Rename your document

<Change document format


(JPEG, TIFF, PNG, PDF)

4. Notice the scan button is grayed out. You must first make a selection by
dragging a box over the part of the image you wish to capture and then
click scan.
5. The scanned document will open in Preview and be saved to your pictures
folder by default.
