Project Guide

ABSTRACT:
Now-a-days Emergency vehicles getting struck in traffic leads to the endangerment of
lives. The aim of this project is to design a system which will be helpful for an emergency
vehicles like Ambulance, Fire Engines, Police patrolling etc., to reach their destinations as early
they need. We have a high traffic in main cities due to vast increasing of automobiles.
Emergency vehicles are not having a possibility to go through this heavy traffic.
Each individual emergency vehicle is equipped with special RFID tag. We use RFID
reader which is placed near by junction to read RFID tag attached to the vehicle. RFID is further
interfaced with RF Transmitter then it sends the data to RF receiver which is interfaced with
controller in the junction. The controller process according to the data and actuates the traffic
signal to turn on green LED as long as vehicle passes through the junction and after that
controller continues with normal traffic control operation. The reason for change of signals is
displayed by using LCD which is placed at junction.

EXISTING MODEL:
When Ambulance is approaching the junction, it will communicate with the traffic
controller in the junction to turn on green light. This module uses Zigbee module for
communication. Here the problem is zigbee module
communication is

is having a

particular

address for

not available. So signal will be interfere with nearby junctions and

when more than one emergency vehicle came to same junction at the same time then
again problem arises.

PROPOSED METHOD:
When an Emergency vehicle reaches the nearby junction RFID reader reads the RFID
tags which present in the vehicles and communicates with the controller through long
range RF Transmitter and Receiver.

Existing model can be overcome by using RF

modules which has addressing capability so that it will avoids the interference of signals and
also by keeping different levels of priorities through RFIDs it can allow the emergency
vehicles when more than one came at the same time to the junction.
