Fourth Grade Rocks

Week of February 2 , 2015

Reading
This week in reading we
will work on theme. In our
guided reading groups we
are continuing new fiction
pieces. The groups will be
working on main ideas and
inferring.
In word work we will be
working on pronouns and
that will be what our
spelling will be for the
next two weeks. We will
also be reviewing simple
sentences and subjects
and predicates.

Wri+ng
This week we are continuing our
unit on informative writing.
This unit will focus on
something that the kids are an
expert on. We will then
brainstorm how to break that
topic up into main ideas and
details. Focusing on using
smooth transitions and more
formal language as we are
writing will be a key focus.

Math

Social Studies

This week we are


continuing our unit on
decimals. We will be
focusing on converting
fractions to decimals
this week. We will
hopefully be having our
assessment on Friday.

We are continiung our unit


on the Bill of Rights and
students rights and
responsibilities. The kids
will be studying about the
first ten amendments of
the Constitution and why
they are important to the
citizens of the U.S.
In Science, the students
care working on inventions
and will be constructing a
protector for the egg
drop.
