What We Are Learning in Room 202!

Reading We just began contractions this week! We are also looking at
many different ways to make a vowel long. This week, we looked at the
combinations ue, ea, oa, ee, ai, and ie! We will be finishing Unit 10 next
week!
Math Chapter 5 ties together the addition and subtraction strategies we
have looked at so far this year. Students are learning all about related
facts. They can now check their subtraction differences by creating
addition sums!
Science- We have begun studying penguins. We will be looking at lots of
non-fiction texts describing different types of penguins, as well as fiction
stories about penguins.
Writing- Our personal narratives turned out wonderfully! Students
worked so hard to tell about a personal experience. They participated
in brainstorming, editing, and publishing a final piece of writing!
