Metals Melting Point (C) Boiling Point (C) : Al Ca MG
Task 5
Work in groups of three students. Find out a table about chemical engineering data
and discuss in groups. Write the report about the interpretation of the table and then describe
it to class.

This table shows the melting point and the boiling point of metals. The table has three
columns. The first column indicates metals; the second column presents the melting point of
the metals in oC; the last column shows the boiling point of the metals in oC. The data are
indicated in an alphabetical order. We can see from the table that an Al has melting point of
660 oC. The melting point of Ca is 839 oC; it is higher than the melting point of Al. The
melting point of Mg is 650 oC; it is lowest among the other metals. We can see from the table
that an Al has boiling point of 2467 oC.The boiling point of Ca is 1483 oC; it is lower than the
boiling point of Al. The boiling point of Mg is 1105 oC; it is lowest among the other metals.
By studying this table, we can predict that Ca has the highest the melting point while Mg has
the lowest the melting point among the other metals. Then, Al has the highest the boiling
point whereas Mg has the lowest the boiling point among the other metals.
