Announcements:

The next PTO meeting will


be March 9th at 6:00 pm.
The next DRES restaurant
night is March 10th at
McAllisters.
March 9-13 is the spring book
fair.
The first grade book fair
luncheon will be on
Wednesday, March 11th.
First grade will take a field
trip to the Southern Union
Health Expo on March 17th.
More information will be
sent home soon.
Spring Break will be March
23-27.
Our class is in need of Clorox
wipes, tissues, and glue
sticks. Any donations are
appreciated.

Star Student
Our STAR student for February
23-27 was Christopher Allen
Valeri for demonstrating
independence. Next weeks
character trait is trustworthy.

A Peek at Our Week


Reading/Language Arts: Our phonics skill for
this week is or (torn, short, more). Our
comprehension skill is problem and solution. In
grammar we are writing sentences with
adjectives that compare. We are also learning
about abbreviations.
Math: This week we are continuing our study
of measurement. We will measure objects using
standard and nonstandard units of
measurement. We will also compare objects by
length.
Science: We are learning about weather.

Sight Words: began, better, less, learn, right,


sure
Vocabulary Words: complicated, curious,
device, imagine, improve, idea, unusual
