Meeting at Catalyst Museum and Science Discovery Centre, Widnes, Cheshire,

The Historical Group traditionally holds its meetings in London, but if we are to
explore the development of the chemical industry in one of its major strongholds in
the nineteenth century, i.e. the North-West of England, then it is appropriate that we
should hold the meeting where it all happened. Catalyst is located in a former ICI
laboratory, and it contains an interesting museum of the chemical industry. There
will be a charge for attending this meeting and pre-registration is essential. Full
