To establish positive relationships with families, the educator will recognize the important influence of family in a child's life. They will involve parents in activities and decision making to make them feel their opinions are encouraged. Family-oriented activities like family trees and cultural events will bring families into the center. Family meetings will be held to discuss the facility and get parent input on what is working and not working to better the facility. The educator will communicate daily with parents about their child's day instead of just sending a note and remain professional in any conflicts while keeping the child's best interests in mind.

Familyisthemostimportantinfluenceinchildren'slives.Iwillrecognizethis
drivingforcebycreatingapositiverelationshipwiththechild'sparents/guardians.Iwill
involvetheminactivitiesanddecisionmaking.Tohelpthemknowtheiropinionmatters
andisencouraged.Iwillbringfamilyintothecenterbydoingfamilyorientatedactivities,
suchasfamilytrees,andculturalactivities.Iwillholdfamilymeetingswhereparentsare
invitedtoanopennightwheretopicsarediscussedaboutthefacilityandhowitisran
bringinguptopicstheycanhaveaninfluencein.Tohelpbetterthefacilityandseewhat
theparentsfeelareworkingandnotworking.Ingeneralcommunicationwiththe
parentsabouttheeverydaythingstheirchilddoes,insteadofjusthandingthemanote
abouttheirday,Iwilltrytosayafewwordsabouthowtheirdaywent.Iwillremain
professionalwhenanyconflictingsituationsarise,andalwayshavethechildsbest
interestinmind.
