Internet Article 1
a. Ease of Access:
For the internet article, it is simple to access an article. As long as you know what you are
looking for. Most people have a search engine ready to go when they get on the internet or you
can type a key word on your browser bar. You just have to make sure the link that you like on is
for a reliable source
b. Timeliness:

Assignment 2: Information Literacy

Nicole Dorrett
I feel timeliness just goes hand in hand with ease of access. If it is easy to access, it will
be faster to get the information you need. The only thing that would affect your time is looking
for a reliable source or even taking time to look over a source that is not reliable.
c. Authority:
For any internet article, it may be difficult to know the author and if they are
qualified to write the information you are looking for. Mostly, if you are on a reputable
website then the author should be qualified. You need to make sure you are not on yahoo
answers or wikipedia. A good way to make sure is if you are on a website for a
newspaper or it the website ends in edu.
DB Article 1
a. Ease of Access:
For the database article, there are back ways to get to the library. You have to go to a
specific website and log in to have full access of the database. It would be difficult to access if
you did not have a username. It would be easier to just search on the internet.
b. Timeliness:
It would take longer to use a database then to do an internet search. As stated, the
timeliness would pretty much be hand in hand with ease of access. However, once you are in the
databases the actual search would take less than an internet search. This is because you know all
the articles are a reputable source.
c. Authority:
You know when you are looking in a library database that the author is qualified
and the source is reliable. Anything can get on the internet but, to get in the library you
have to be approved and it is monitored. I would say if you need to make sure the author
is qualified or if you cannot decipher on the internet you should just the database.
