Eco System
Eco System
Definition:
A group of organisms interacts themselves and environment is known as
Ecosystem.
It is mainly explained the components and interactions of components.
Ex. Biotic , Abiotic
Concept of an Ecosystem:
A living organism plants, animals or humans interacts with non-living organism
for their basic requirements.
I. Ecology
II. Ecosystem
These two terms are main terms:
I. Ecology:
Ecology is the study of Eco-system or Ecology is the study of interaction of
organism or group of organisms with environment is called ecology
Ecosystem word is introduced from Greek language
In Greek language Ecosystem means The study of Home (Environment)
Two types of Ecosystem are:
Ecosystem
1. Natural Ecosystem
1. Natural Ecosystem:
The Ecosystem is mainly operates by natural conditions. This type of
Ecosystem is called Natural ecosystem.
Natural Ecosystems are 2 types
Natural Ecosystem
Terrestrial Ecosystem
Aquatic Ecosystem
1
a. Terrestrial ecosystem:
It is explained only land.
Ex:
1. Forest ecosystem
2. Dessert ecosystem
3. Grass land ecosystem
b. Aquatic ecosystem:
This type of Eco-system mainly explained by water.
Based on salt water 2 types of ecosystems.
1. Fresh water ecosystem
2. Marine or salt ecosystem
Based on Fresh water 2 types of ecosystems.
1. Flowing water bodies ecosystem
Ex: River, Streams
2. Standing water bodies ecosystem
Ex: Lakes, Ponds
2. Man made ecosystem:
The ecosystem mainly operated by man.
Ex: Crop lands, gardens
Structure of an ecosystem:
Ecosystem mainly operates by biotic and abiotic components.
Biotic Components:
A living organisms of an ecosystem is components or biotic community
Ex. Plants, Animals,
Producers
Micro organisms
Consumers
de-composers
Abiotic components:
Non-living organisms (Physical and chemical components) of an
ecosystems collectively from a community is called as abiotic components or abiotic
community
EX: Air, water , soil, nutrients, energy
Physical components:- Air, water, soil, energy
Chemical components:- Nutrients is consists of organic and inorganic matter
Organic matter:- Proteins, vitamins, carbohydrates
Inorganic matter:- Micro elements, Macro elements
