Please plan to attend Preschool, Pre-K and Kindergarten Round-Up on Thursday, April 30

from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., in the Elementary Library. The purpose of this meeting is to introduce you
to Northeast Hamilton, and specically, to the Preschool, Pre-K, and Kindergarten programs. At this
time you will have the opportunity to meet our Superintendent/Principal, Mr. Kruger, School Nurse,
Mrs. Olson, 3 and 4 year old Preschool Teacher, Mrs. Gerard and Pre K, Kindergarten Teacher, and
Mrs. Oakland. This is a meeting for parents and guardians only. Students are encouraged to attend
Open House the night before school begins to explore their new classrooms.
Thanks for your cooperation. If you have any questions before our meeting in April, feel free to
call us at the school (325-6234). We look forward to meeting you in April and working with you throughout the school year. We are planning a stimulating, productive, and happy year with your child. We will
only have your child for a short time in this trip through life--- and we want to make a contribution that
lasts a lifetime.

THE SENIOR CLASS IS ASKING FOR ESTIMATION JARS FOR THE

AFTER PROM PROGRAM AGAIN THIS YEAR. PLEASE FILL A JAR
OR CONTAINER WITH SOMETHING(CANDY, GOLF BALLS, PAPER CLIPS, ETC) WRITE THE TOTAL IN THE CONTAINER ON THE
BOTTOM SO THAT WHEN THEY LOOK AT THE BOTTOM THEY
CAN SEE HOW MANY ARE IN THE CONTAINER. PLEASE INCLUDE A GIFT CARD GREATER THAN OR EQUAL TO $10.00.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATION AND HELPING KEEP THE ESTINATION STATION TRADITION GOING AT THE NEH AFTER PROM.

PRE-SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENT
Preschool round up is right around the corner and the preschool staff would like to remind parents of all 3 year old regarding the
policy for potty training. Your child does not need to be 100% potty trained before starting school, however, we do require parents
to have at least started. If students are not fully potty trained, we require parents to send students in pull-ups instead of diapers,
unless discussed otherwise. All 3 year old's who have either started potty training or are fully potty trained, are highly recommended to attend preschool. The power of peers works wonders with helping to meet developmental milestones. We encourage
all parents who are deciding whether their child is ready, to attend preschool round up on April 30th from 6:30-7:30pm. If you
have any questions or concerns, please contact Mrs. Gerard at 515-325-6258.

TAKE THIS QUIZ

You don't actually have to take the quiz. Just read straight through and
you'll get the point, an awesome one.
Take this quiz:
1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America contest.
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor/actress.
6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.
How did you do?
The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no
second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause
dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates
are buried with their owners.
Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:
1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.
6. Name half a dozen heroes whose stories have inspired you. Easier?
The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones
with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the
ones that care.

FAMILY READING NIGHT

Family Reading Night was
held on March 31st and
featured two local authors,
Lisa Broadie Cook (left) and
Karen M Ryant Hutzel (right).

Sherri Olson helped the students

create a group add on story called,
Benny Bunnys Great Adventure. After
writing their part of the story, students
were able to help decorate cupcakes
for snack time.

There were 43 students who attended Family

Reading Night! At the end of the night, each student
received a free book and an NEH door prize.

While families enjoyed snacks

provided by Sherri Olson and
the National Honor Society, Mr.
Kruger read the Benny Bunny
story created by the students.

Big thank you to our two featured

Broadie Cook for sharing their
