The document provides information about two movement assessment certifications: the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) Level 1 certification and the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) Level 1 certification. The FMS is an 8-hour screening tool used to identify limitations in fundamental movement patterns without current pain, while the SFMA is a 15-hour diagnostic system designed to clinically assess movement patterns in individuals with known pain. Both certifications will be held June 12-14, 2015 at the Palace Hotel in Manchester, UK and teach assessment techniques, linking findings to treatment strategies, and corrective exercises.

The FMS is the screening tool used to identify
limitations or asymmetries in seven fundamental movement patterns that are key to functional movement quality in individuals with no current pain complaint or known musculoskeletal injury.
The SFMA is the movement based diagnostic system,
designed to clinically assess 7 fundamental movement patterns in those with known musculoskeletal pain. The assessment provides an efficient method to systematically find the cause of symptoms, not just the source, by logically breaking down dysfunctional patterns and diagnosing their root cause as either a mobility problem or a stability/motor control problem.
