1 Failed to underline Thesis Statement and only one sentence and has correct placement. 2 Started a sentence with This and a verb and no subject. 3 Used incorrect punctuation. 4 Surprisingly failed to have three parts of the essay: Intro, Body, and Conclusion. 5 Improper Comma Usage. Style and Skills 6 Used Contractions: do not use dont. 7 Failed to refrain from using To Be verbs: be am is are was were been being. 8 Failed to write in the Present Tense. 9 Failed to have valid quotes to back up your opinion, use correct formation on quotes. 10 Failed to use correct words. 11 Used Us, We, Our, I, Me, You, and addressed the reader. 12 Used slang or clichs. 13 Failed to Proofread. 14 Asked questions in the essay. 15 Failed to edit. 16 Was too conversational instead of writing formally. 17 Wrote passively instead of actively. Directions for Assignment 18 Failed page requirement. 19 Failed to have correct margins(1 inch) and spacing (double entire paper except for heading) and font size (12) and type (Times New Roman). 20 Failed to follow directions. 21 Forgot a works cited page or it was an incorrect works cited.
