Using Mathematics Equation

The document contains two questions about evaluating indefinite integrals and graphing quadratic equations. Question 1 asks to evaluate three indefinite integrals: the integral of the square root of x+1 from x=2 to x=3, the integral of (x-3)(x+1) from x=4 to x=6, and the integral of x^2(sinx) from x=0 to x=π/2. Question 2 involves completing a table of values for the equation y=2x^2-5x-3, graphing the equation, finding specific y-values from the graph, finding x-values that satisfy the equation 2x^2-5x-3=0, and

(a) Complete the following table for the equation y=2 x 2−5 x−3

x –3 –2 –1 0 0.5 1 2 3 4 5
y 30 4 –3 –6 –5 0 9 22

(b) By using a scale 2 cm to 1 unit on the x-axis and 2 cm to 5 units on the y -axis, draw the graph of

y=2 x 2−5 x−3, given -3 ≤ x ≤ 5.

(c) From your graph, state:

(i) the value of y when x = -2.4,

(ii) the value of x when 2 x2 −5 x −3=0

(d) Draw a suitable straight line on your graph to find all the values of x which satisfy the equation

2 x2 −5 x −3=7 , for -3 ≤ x ≤ 5. State these values of x .
