Teaching Philosophy
I know that as I grow and evolve as an educator that
my philosophies will also be constantly growing and changing. I will continue to learn along with my students, and I
will always try to be open minded and willing to change and
grow in my beliefs and practices as an educator.
In todays world with technology constantly changing
and improving I want to always be on top of these changes
in order to offer my students the best quality instruction
possible. Bringing technology into my classroom makes an important connection to the
society that we live in. Technology can aid in increased student engagement. I want my
students to always be fully engaged and involved in my lessons, so it is important to relate
the content and my instructional strategies to my students needs and interests.
It is extremely important to be an educator who is sensitive to and aware of
multicultural differences in order to encourage students to achieve their highest potential.
By recognizing these differences in student backgrounds I can help my students connect the
lessons/material to real life experiences to make learning more meaningful.
As I teach I will recognize each of my students unique characteristics and needs.
Each student is an individual with different strengths and weaknesses. This means that I
need to take the various strengths and weaknesses of my students into account as I am
planning lessons and activities. I want to be there to challenge my students, but I also want
to build their confidence in areas that they may be struggling.
A main goal of mine is to promote life-long learners with strong core values. In order
to make this goal happen I will need to pay close attention to my students effort, not just
their final product/quality of work. Every child learns at a different speed and in a different
way and it is my job as an educator to respect this and take this into consideration when
planning and grading.
I am looking forward to growing along with my students each year. I strive to always
be the best educator possible for my students.
