HLAC 1096 Lifelong Wellness Application Paper


Write a paragraph on each of the following:
1. What did you learn about lifelong wellness from taking this activity class?
I learned that a healthy lifestyle begins with the choices leading up to balanced
meals and exercise. It became apparent to me that with my busy life style of
school and work I could not count on me spontaneously exercising and having
healthy meals planned out.

2. How would you apply this information to your life?


I began by planning out my meals and work out sessions. The exercise and food
log helped me to take control of what kind of food I would eat along with the
amount of exercise I began to to get through out the week. This allowed me to
hold myself accountable for things that I needed to do.

3. What is your intention to continue to exercise in your life and why?


My intention is to continue to plan out my meals and exercise. I want to now
include more strength training along with the cardio and yoga I have already
been maintaining. I also plan to get myself a gym pass to have access to weights
and treadmills, for when I cant run outside.

4. General ideas for improving this course?


Because this is a course for college students I think that it needs to be adapted
more specifically for the students. It would help to have some tips on how to work
around a busy schedules. Possibly some strategies for prioritizing class schedule

and exercise schedule. As well as letting online students know about resources
that would be of some help like, that slcc has facilities that are available to
students. Overall I think the course should fit the target audience.
