Summary
Lorenzo de Guzman, an electronic engineer graduate who is working on the
KUNDIMAN COMMUNICATION CORPORATION for ten years just received an
order from hi superior. He was assigned to head a newly build telecommunication
facility in Antipolo, Rizal. He is the only company personnel identified with the new
facility, he was given 3 months to make the facility operational. For the Antipolo unit
to operate it will require services of skilled persons for the various activities that will
be undertaken.
Engineer de Guzman felt that the training provided by the company had really
prepared him for this kind of job, but hes expertise did not prepare him with the
expertise to recruit qualified persons to occupy the various position that will be
created.
Now Engineer de Guzman promotion will depend on the success of the new

Statement of the Problem
Engineer de Guzman do not have expertise on recruiting qualified person to
occupy the job openings in the new facility he is heading.
Alternative Courses of Action
1. Do the staffing procedure by himself.
2. Find referrals from his acquaintances in the company.
3. Consult and take qualified persons from Recruitment and Training Firms
4. Taking a training for Human Resource Management
Justification of Chosen Alternatives
Doing the staffing procedure might be a good idea but he still lacks experience in
Human Resource Management. Even taking training is not the answer because
Engineer de Guzman only have 3 months to make the new site and facility
operational. I think the best choice is consult and take qualified persons from
recruitment and training firms, since he needs person eligible for the job openings
in the new facility, I think the human resource manager in the firms will help him

since they have expertise on hiring people eligible for jobs specified by their
clients.
