RECAP: SS Ketel Marte drove in 2 runs and starter Mike Montgomery struck out 8 in 7.0 innings as Tacoma defeated Salt Lake 4-3 on
Monday night. Marte (2x4, 2B, 2 RBI), C John Hicks (2x4, 2B) and 2B Shawn OMalley (2x3, 3 R, 3B, BB,SB) each recorded 2 hits, while CF
James Jones (1x4, R, 3B, RBI, BB) collected the Rainiers other hit. Montgomery (7.0,8,2,2,1,8) earned his 2nd win of the season, allowing
only 2 runs on 8 hits in 7.0 innings. RH Mayckol Guaipe (1.0,2,1,1,0,3) was charged with a run in the top of the 9th inning, while LH Lucas
Luetge (1.0,1,0,0,1,0) allowed an inherited runner to score before recording the final 3 outs to secure the win and pick up his 2nd save.
OF NOTE:

Since April 22, the Rainiers relievers have allowed only 8 runs (7 ER) over 41.1 innings in relief (1.52 ERA). During this stretch they have

RECAP: DH Jabari Blash and 3B Jordy Lara each homered and combined to drive in 7 runs as Jackson defeated Pensacola 15-4 on
Monday afternoon. Blash hit his first home run with Jackson with a 3-run blast with 2 outs in the 2nd inning, while Lara hit a 3-run home run
with 1 out n the 5th inning. The Generals had 8 players record at least 1 of the teams 13 hits, while SS Tyler Smith (3x3, R, 2 2B, 2 RBI, BB),
Lara (2x5, R, 2B, HR, 3 RBI), 2B Jack Reinheimer (2x4, 2 R, 2B, RBI, BB,SB) and 1B Daniel Paolini (2x5, 2 R) each collected multi-hit
contests. Starter Jake Zokan (5.1,6,4,4,0,0,HR) earned his first career Double-A win, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits over 5.1 innings. RH Andrew
Kittredge (1.2,1,0,0,0,2), RH Moises Hernandez (1.0,1,0,0,0,0) and RH Tony Zych (1.0,0,0,0,0,0) combined to hold the Blue Wahoos
scoreless over the final 3.2 innings in relief.
HULTZEN STARTING: LH Danny Hultzen made his season debut with AA Jackson on May vs. vs. Pensacola. He allowed 1 run (0 ER) on 3
hits over 3.1 innings, but did not factor into the Generals 8-3 win. He walked 1 and struck out 4, while throwing 56 pitches, 38 strikes. He
appeared in 1 game with the Mariners during Spring Training on March 11 vs. Colorado, allowing only 1 walk in 1.0 scoreless inning in relief.
Hultzen will be making his first start with an affiliated team since Sept. 1, 2013 vs. Sacramento, while on the AAA Tacoma Rainiers roster. He
missed all of the 2014 season after having left shoulder surgery on Oct. 1, 2013 to clean up his labrum and a partial tear of the rotator cuff and
repaired the capsule. Hultzen was the Mariners first round selection (2nd overall) in the 2011 First-Year MLB Player Draft. In 2 minor league
seasons (2012-13), he is 14-8 with a 2.82 ERA (50 ER, 159. 2 IP) in 32 starts. He has made 18 starts with AA Jackson between 2012-13,
going 5-5 with a 4.42 ERA (39 ER, 79.1 IP).
OF NOTE:

OF Dario Pizzano, who did not play yesderday, currently has a 15-game hitting streak, batting, .435 (27x62) with 7 runs scored, 2
doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 7 RBI, 2 walks and 2 stolen bases. His 15-game hitting streak is currently tied for the longest streak in the
league this season and the longest active streak. Overall this season he has hit safely in 17 of 18 games this season, batting .420 (29x69)
with 7 runs scored, 2 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 8 RBI, 4 walks and 2 stolen base.
o Pizzano 15-game hit streak is T2nd-longest in his career and trails only his career-high 19-game hit streak set in 2013 while a
member of the LumberKings (19 G, 8/7-25/13 w/Clinton).

INF Jack Reinheimer has hit safely in 3 of 4 games in May, batting .353 (6x17) with 4 runs scored, 1 double, 1 RBI, 2 walks and 1 stolen
base.

C Steven Baron has hit safely in 7 of his 8 games, including 5 straight games. Since April 26, Baron is batting .409 (9x22) with 7 runs
scored, 2 doubles, 3 RBI, 5 walks and 1 stolen base.

OF Jordy Lara has recorded back-to-back games with 3 RBI after driving on only 3 runs in his first 19 games of the season.

After not recording a RBI in his first 8 games of the season, INF D.J. Peterson has driven in 10 over the last 13 games. Since April 25,
Peterson has hit safely in 4 of 8 games with 4 multi-hit contests, batting .321 (9x28) with 7 runs scored, 3 doubles, 1 home run, 7 RBI, 2
walks and 1 stolen base.
o Peterson set a season-high with 4 RBI on May 1 vs. Pensacola. It was his 9th career game with at least 4 RBI (last: 5, 9/1/14 at

MISSAKI PITCHER OF THE WEEK: RH Daniel Missaki was named Midwest League Pitcher of the Week, April 27-May 4. In his only start
this week, Missaki was the part of a combined no-hitter as Clinton defeated Cedar Rapids 2-0 on May 1. He allowed only 1 walk, while striking
out 7 in 7.0 no-hit innings (see note below for more info on Clintons no-hitter). Overall this season, Missaki is 1-1 with a 3.68 ERA (12 ER, 29.1
IP) in 5 starts with Clinton. He has limited opponents to a .243 (27x111) average, while walking 4 and striking out 30.
NO HITTER: Starter Daniel Missaki and relievers Kody Kerski and Troy Scott combined to throw the LumberKings 23rd no-hitter in
franchise history as Clinton shutout Cedar Rapids 2-0 on May 1. It was the first combined no-hitter for Clinton since 1996, and the first in club
history to feature more than 2 pitchers. Missaki (7.0,0,0,0,1,7) earned his first win of the season, allowing only 1 walk and striking out 7 in 7.0
no-hit innings. He retired 20 batters in a row, before allowing a 2-out walk to Trey Vavra in the bottom of the 7th inning. Kerski (1.0,0,0,0,0,2)
struck out 2 of 3 batters faced in the 8th inning, while Scott (1.0,0,0,0,1,1) issued 1 walk and struck out 1 to earn his first save of the season.
RH Victor Sanchez (7/17/13 vs. Lansing) and LH Jordan Shipers (7/11/12) were the most recent Mariners farmhands to throw a no-hitter
with the LumberKings.
