SPECIAL THANK YOU:

Yard Sale Thanks
I would like to take this time to say thank you for all
those that participated in our Yard Sale Fundraiser.
I was blessed with all those that were willing to help and
give part or all of their day to the cause, so to speak.

We had raffles, baked goods, another mans treasure,

and of course we had a great time of seeing all the
residents. It was nice seeing everyone out of their
homes after a long winter. We are truly blessed with
all those that helped, donated, and visited.
If you never attended or helped you missed out on a
blessing. Maybe next year I will look you up and try
to get you in on our next adventure.
LOL. Truly thanks to you ALL.

FMO NEWS

FMO Bulow Park Rep: Diane Cullison

19 Audubon 856-461-1616
The (FMO) Federation Of Manufactured
Homeowners of Florida has drafted and promoted
updates to the Florida Statute 723 which governs
the establishment of HOAs and interactions
between our HOA and Park Owners as well as rent
negotiations and mediation. The original statute 723
was drafted by the FMO over 20 years ago and
adopted by the Florida legislature as the only state
that has such a statute. The updates were jointly
reviewed and supported by the FMO and the
FMHA(The Florida Association of Manufactured
Home Manufactures and Park owners) in 2014. The
Florida legislator is close to passing the changes.
These changes will bring the statute up to current
HOA statute standards and require annual HOA
board member training and certification. The FMO
has provided the training annually at District
meetings.
PS: The informal organization of ELS homeowners
(Networking for Progress) announced at the FMO
Board meeting that ELS has agreed to provide
HOAs with a list of new residents each month.

BULOW HOA PRESIDENTS LETTER
Our committee met with Todd our General Manager
on March 30th to discuss matters of interest to our
residents. Items Discussed:
*Water reports not due until July
*Parking at the club house: Todd checked and
advised us that the parking is for our guests and
parking for activities at the club house only. It is not
for residents to park their overflow cars and trailers.
*Todd is still working on fencing the patio on the
island.
*The street light outside the pool on Silver Moon is
fixed.
*Todd gave Terry Peace an OK to get a decent
sound system for our club house.
Thanks to everyone that helped make our Rummage
sale a huge success on April 11th, it couldnt be done
without your help. I think the time has come to think
about some other kind of fund raiser. People dont
seem to have the items or the will to have a rummage
sale every year. It is time to put your thinking caps
on, and come up with some new ideas, we are
allowed another fund raiser this year.
I want to acknowledge that Thrivent Financial our
(Kuhns) Insurance and Financial co. donated $250
seed money to help defray our expenses.
Thanks to Dollie Leasure for taking over the General
Meeting for me while I was sick.
June Kuhns/ Bulow HOA President

More Than You Ever Wanted To Know ABOUT:

The Kentucky Derby

The Kentucky Derby horse race is held annually in Louisville, Kentucky, on the first Saturday in May,
capping the two-week-long Kentucky Derby Festival. The race is a Grade I stakes race for three-year-old
Thoroughbreds with a length of one and a quarter miles (2 km) at Churchill Downs. Colts and geldings
carry 126 pounds (57 kilograms) and fillies 121 pounds (55 kilograms).
The race is known in the United States as "The Most Exciting Two Minutes In Sports" or "The Fastest
Two Minutes in Sports" for its approximate duration, and is also called "The Run for the Roses" for the
blanket of roses draped over the winner. It is the first leg of the American Triple Crown and is followed
by the Preakness Stakes, then the Belmont Stakes. Unlike the Preakness and Belmont Stakes, which took
hiatuses in 1891-1893 and 1911-1912, respectively, the Kentucky Derby has been run every consecutive
year since 1875. A horse must win all three races to win the Triple Crown. In the 2015 listing of the
International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA), the Kentucky Derby tied with the Whitney
Handicap as the top Grade 1 race in the United States outside of the Breeders' Cup races.
The attendance at the Kentucky Derby ranks first in North America and usually surpasses the
attendance of all other stakes races including the Preakness Stakes, Belmont Stakes, and the Breeders'
Cup.
The 141st running of the Kentucky Derby will be run Saturday, May 2, 2015 with a $2 million guarantee.
In 1872, Col. Meriwether Lewis Clark, Jr., grandson of William Clark of the Lewis and Clark expedition,
traveled to England, visiting the Derby, a famous race that had been running annually since 1780. From
there, Clark went on to Paris, France, where in 1863, a group of racing enthusiasts had formed the
French Jockey Club and had organized the Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamps, which at the time was
the greatest race in France.
Returning home to Kentucky, Clark organized the Louisville Jockey Club for the purpose of raising
money to build quality racing facilities just outside of the city. The track would soon become known as
Churchill Downs, named for John and Henry Churchill, who provided the land for the racetrack.
Officially, the racetrack was incorporated as Churchill Downs in 1937.
The Kentucky Derby was first run at 1 12 miles (2.4 kilometres), the same distance as the Epsom Derby.
The distance was changed in 1896 to its current 1 14 miles (2.0 kilometres). On May 17, 1875, in front of
an estimated crowd of 10,000 people, a field of 15 three-year-old horses contested the first Derby. Under
jockey Oliver Lewis, a colt named Aristides, who was trained by future Hall of Famer Ansel Williamson,
won the inaugural Derby. Later that year, Lewis rode Aristides to a second-place finish in the Belmont
Stakes.
Although the first race meeting proved a success, the track ran into financial difficulties and in 1894 the
New Louisville Jockey Club was incorporated with new capitalization and improved facilities. Despite
this, the business foundered until 1902 when Col. Matt Winn of Louisville put together a syndicate of
businessmen to acquire the facility. Under Winn, Churchill Downs prospered and the Kentucky Derby
then became the preeminent stakes race for three-year-old thoroughbred horses in North America.
Derby participants are limited to three-year-old horses. No horse since Apollo in 1882 has won the Derby
without having raced at age two.
