Mrs. Page's 4th grade class has been studying microbes and governments. The students learned that microbes can be helpful or harmful, and viewed bacteria under microscopes. They also enjoyed a "Funky Food Feast" to observe different foods' smells and textures. In government, the students learned about China's history and government from a guest teacher, and are now creating presentations about other countries' governments. Their government project due date was extended to May 15th. Upcoming dates include art shows, graduation, and the last day of school on June 12th.

Microbes All Around

The students have been working hard throughout the past weeks to learn about
microbes. They have learned that microbes can be both good and bad for living things.

Government
During class and at home the students have spent time learning about the Chinese
government and also governments around the world. We were lucky to have Ms. Julie to
prepare lessons to teach the students about Chinese history and the way that the
government works here in China. The students were always excited to hear what new

and exciting information she would share each day. Now the students are working on creating presentations
to showcase information about governments from dierent places around the world. The students seem very
enthusiastic about working this project and we have had many interesting and intense conversations while
trying to understand how governments share similarities and dierences. We have moved the project due
date to May 15th in order to allow the students some more time to finish their project. If you or your child
needs anything, please let me know.
