total power in the wind iii) Power obtained at turbine. The diameter of rotor is 120m.
Q3) Write a short note on radiation hazards and disposal of radioactive wastes.
Q4) The Explain the horizontal axis wind machine with neat diagram.
Q5) Draw the neat diagram for nuclear reactor and list out its different components.
PART-B (1X10=10 marks)
Q1) With neat diagram explain the Pressurized water reactor and list its advantages and
disadvantages.
Q2) Explain the with neat diagram. a) Solar pond power plant b) Vertical axis wind machin

over a flat plate.
Q2) Water at 15oC flows parallel to a flat plate of length 0.3m and width 0.6m with a velocity of
0.4m/s. Determine the heat loss from both sides of the plate if the plate surface temperature is
maintained at 95oC.
Q3) A cylinder of diameter D=0.1m, Length L= 0.15m, is maintained at a uniform temperature of
Tw=60oC in still air at T= 20oC. The two flat ends of the cylinder are perfectly insulated. Compare the
heat loss from the cylinder if its axis is i) Horizontal ii) Vertical.
Take the following properties at 40oC.
