Purpose of Interview 1:

What is the purpose of this interview?

We hope the interview with Jayne Davis will give the residents of Henley more information about
what type of person she is and they can get to know her, to see what type of person that is
teaching their kids.

Circle which of the following formats it will be;

Lifestyle magazine article
Lifestyle television or radio Programme article
Television or radio documentary
Childrens news website
Commercial blog
Local television news
National radio news,
Reality television contestants

Add research demonstrating the format of this interview (ie a magazine layout, or an interview chat
show on TV)

Below is a interview with Bradly Cooper on the Johnathan Ross show, they use a lot of the same
styles that I want to use in my interview, it is very chatty and funny but also very informative, by
doing this you keep the audience engaged because they like to laugh but also they are learning
things about him and his movies.

Planning for Interview One

Interviewees Name: Jayne Davis
Date and Time of interview:

How will you record the interview?

In our studio with 3 cameras,

In what medium (audio, visual, written etc) will the final interview be presented? It will all be visuals
using cut aways to keep it engaging.

What information do you need to get from this interview? We need to get what she plans to do in
the future of the collage, and also a little more about her.

Describe how you are planning on contacting and liaising with your talent (interviewee)
We have used email to contact Jayne, we will send her the questions so she knows what is
coming, also we have informed her of all the times.

Production Booklet

How will you make sure unnecessary sounds etc are not recorded?
We will have only Mics pointed at the main set also there will be in a soundproof room, with only
the camera operator in there.

If visual recording, explain how you will deal with any issues caused by ambient light.
We can put the final product trough post production and get any unwanted lighting, also we will
plan our lighting well before the final shoot.

What equipment will you need to carry out this interview?

All the equipment will be set up, three cameras, green screen, vision mixer, sound mixer, lighting
and sound equipment.

Structuring your interview: Scripts and Question Formulation

Next Question: What do you do at the college? And how is that

going?

I do a media course, and yes its going great thanks.

Next Question: And you are a member of the Henley skate park
team then? Why do you do what makes you so passionate about
the skate park?

Likely Response:
I love skateboarding and the old one was awful

Production Booklet

As I understand you plan to build an entire new park, what is

the general plan?

Likely Response:
Yeh we have a design company to make us a new full concrete skate park.

Next Question: Now as with most skate parks around the

country planners get a lot of negative feedback from the

community people saying that it is a waste of money, or
that it will bring more violence. I found one story from
a town called Penarth in wales were saying there new
Skate Park would become a haven for teenagers drinking alcohol and
taking drugs. How has our local community responded to your
Likely Response:
Yes h have actually have quite a good community response.

That is great to hear, it sounds like it is well on its way to completion

then, whats the hold up?

Likely Response:
Its all money now we need more funding,

Question: How can people help?

Interview Style for Interview One

Production Booklet

What will your interview style be? (Formal, informal and chatty, intense, questioning,
argumentative, friendly, jokey)
My interview is going to be questioning but not in an aggressive way, I want him to feel I am
supportive of his cause and he should be relaxed so I want to make it a bit chatty.

Why have you chosen that style?

When the interviewee is relaxed they answer the questions as they would if they were not on
camera and this is what we are going for, we want it to be a friendly informative local news show
that tell the residents what is going on in their town.

Add research of other interview/chat shows where the presenter has a similar style. You can insert
another page here for your research.

No we will use all our own clips so we do not have to deal with any copyright infringements and
stay on the right side of everyone as we would not want our show taken of air.
