Control Mechanism

Control mechanisms can take two approaches - a structural-formal approach or a cultural-informal approach. The structural approach uses primary and secondary controls, while the cultural approach controls through developing strong corporate culture, building personal relationships, and focusing on human capital and competencies. Control is also exerted through HR processes and network activities that reinforce the social and cultural aspects of the organization.
