What Is a Day?
Read the two passages. Fill in the circle beside the best title for each passage.
1. There are 24 hours in a day. That is how long it takes Earth to turn once.
It is day when our part of Earth faces the sun. It is night when our part of
Earth turns away from the sun.

2. In the summer, days are long and nights are short. In the winter, days are
short and nights are long. Seasons change because of the way Earth
moves. Our part of Earth is closer to the sun in the summer. Our part of
Earth is farther from the sun in the winter.
