The Hydraulic clutch-brake combinations are


mainly used in mechanical presses, shears,
punching machines and other applications that
require high number of strokes per minute as
well as an accurate start/stop operation. Their
advantage in these applications is due to their
silent operations, low inertia, power savings, and
minimal maintenance.

Los freno-embragues hidrulicos combinados


se emplean especialmente en prensas, cizallas,
punzonadoras y mquinas que requieran altas
cadencias y una precisa y rpida maniobra de
arranque y parada. La aplicacin de los frenoembragues hidrulicos en estas mquinas es muy
ventajosa, por su funcionamiento silencioso, baja
inercia, ahorro de energa y mnimo mantenimiento.

GOIZPER hydraulic clutch-brake units are


normally designed to operate at 60 bar oil nominal
pressure in the drive circuit and with forced
lubrication system (if no other specifications
are required). The main function of the cooling
oil running through the discs in both sides is to
absorb and evacuate the heat produced there.

estn diseadas para funcionar con aceite
a una presin nominal de 60 bar en el circuito
de accionamiento y con un circuito de
refrigeracin interna forzada (si no se exigen
otras especificaciones). La principal misin del
aceite de refrigeracin que circula a travs de las
lminas de ambos lados (embrague y freno) es
la absorcin y evacuacin del calor producido
entre las lminas.

It is possible to increase speed, work at higher


rate, and avoid excessive heat increasing the
cooling capacity. Flows are usually between 30
and 80 l/min, depending on the heat demand of
the application, with pressures between 5 and
15 bar in order to conpensate the obstruction
in the lubrication circuit, when oil flows through
filters, piping, rotary seal, clutch-brake unit, heat
exchanger...
The capacity of the main cooling system must
be at least 15% higher than the generated heat
of the clutch-brake unit and the hydraulic circuit.
In general, the return oil cooling the discs of the
clutch-brake unit shall not exceed the temperature
of 70oC and in the tank the maximum temperature
recommended must not exceed 65oC.

La capacidad de refrigeracin del sistema global


debe ser mnimamente 15% superior que el calor
generado en el freno-embrague y en el circuito
hidrulico. En general, el aceite de retorno que
refrigera las lminas del freno-embrague no debe
superar los 70oC de temperatura y en el depsito
la temperatura mxima recomendada no debe
superar los 65oC.

Es posible elevar la velocidad, trabajar a cadencias


superiores y evitar calentamientos excesivos
aumentando la capacidad de refrigeracin.
Normalmente se utilizan caudales entre 30 y 80
l/min, dependiendo de la exigencia trmica de la
aplicacin, con presiones comprendidas entre 5 y
15 bar para compensar la obstruccin producida
en el circuito de lubricacin cuando el aceite
circula a travs de los filtros, tuberas, racor, frenoembrague, intercambiador de calor...

Hydraulic clutch-brake combinations are actuated


by a nearly incompressible fluid, instantly providing
nominal pressure and torque. Once the piston
engages them even pressure is instantly applied
on the plates.

Los freno-embragues hidrulicos al ir accionados por un fluido poco compresible, dan


instantneamente toda la presin nominal, y por
lo tanto el par nominal, pues una vez que el pistn
llega a compactar el paquete de lminas, ejerce
instantneamente toda la presin sobre ellas.
Esto provoca un arranque brusco de la mquina,
con los consabidos problemas de sacudidas,
vibraciones, roturas de mecanismos, etc.

The fast start can create a shock load causing


vibration, bearing wear, mechanism failure, etc.
Figure 5 shows a speed/time diagram for the
starting of a conventional hydraulic clutchbrake unit. As one may observe, the curves for
engagement have a linear profile. In this case
there is a sharp angle at the initial point, reflecting
sudden engagement.
Figure 6 shows the same effect for the braking
operation.
To solve this problem, GOIZPER has developed
(and patented) a clutch-brake unit equipped with
progressive piston, which in combination with a
valve, also developed by GOIZPER, can cover
both the clutch and the brake, according to the
need of each application and user (fig. 2 and 3).

En la fig. 5 se muestra un grfico velocidadtiempo de arranque de un freno-embrague


hidrulico convencional.
La rampa de embragado ofrece un aspecto lineal,
con un punto de inicio de embragada con un
fuerte ngulo, exponente del brusco embragado.
En la fig. 6 se observa el mismo efecto
correspondiente a la fase de frenado.
Para resolver este problema, GOIZPER ha
desarrollado (y patentado) un freno-embrague
equipado con pistn progresivo, que en
combinacin con una vlvula, tambin desarrollada
por GOIZPER, permite regular tanto el embragado
como el frenado, segn la necesidad de cada
aplicacin y gusto de cada usuario (figuras 2 y 3).

Standard GOIZPER sizes offer a wide range of


operating torque. By adding more discs, the
brake and clutch torque gradually increases from
the standard rating. The compact outer diameter
remains the same while the length increases
slightly.

In all clutch torque ratings are static, in an


engaged condition: and the brake torque ratings
are dynamic, in a slipping condition.

En todos los casos el par de embrague es


esttico, es decir, el que da una vez embragado; y
el del frenado es dinmico, es decir, el que da en
resbalamiento.

In addition, if the clutch-brake application in a


particular unit requires less braking torque than
that indicated in the catalogue, springs may be
eliminated so that the torque of the selected
clutch increases.

a) Depending on the piston system:
- Conventional, for simple applications, without
need to regulate the softness of the clutching
and braking.
- Progressive, along with the GOIZPER
valve for the regulation of clutching and
braking for applications that require
greater
control
of
the
clutch-brake
engagement and torque transmission.
b) Depending on the type of enclosure:
- Dynamic Enclosure of GOIZPER design, with
the following advantages:
No need for drilling the shaft.
External oil collection to the press.
- Static or Dynamic enclosure with other designs.

d) Depending on the lubrication:


- Forced.
- Splash.
Finally, GOIZPER can complete its offer with
