Satellite

Satellites have various effects on modern life, especially in technology, communication, and research. They provide information about space, Earth, and help communication worldwide. There are natural satellites like the Moon, and artificial or man-made satellites launched into space. Satellites are placed into orbit using multi-stage rockets and remain in stable orbits due to balanced centripetal and gravitational forces. They work by receiving and retransmitting radio signals and have many uses including research, communications, weather monitoring, navigation, applications, and military purposes. While satellites eventually fall back to Earth, they have greatly expanded human knowledge of the universe and connected people globally.

Satellite

Why Satellite?

Satellites have various effect on our modern life like

today specially in technology fields, communication
fields and research fields where the scientist and the
astrologist could get more information and knowledge
about the world where we live as well as give the
students more information to learn about earth science
which held my interest . Satellites always have been bff
with our scientific world as the result give us a lot of
information about Space, the galaxy where we live and
help us with communication around the world.

What are Satellites?

A satellite is a moon, planet or machine that orbits a planet
or star.
The Moon that orbit around the Earth is an example of
natural satellites and the machine that launched into space
and moves around Earth are called artificial, or man-made
satellite.
Basically, there are two different types of Satellite:
Natural Satellite
Artificial Satellite

Natural Satellite...
Natural Satellite are a celestial body that orbit
around the Earth or another planet

Moon is the natural

satellite of Earth

Artificial Satellite
Artificial Satellite is also known as man-made
Satellite, it is an artificial body placed in orbit
around the Earth or moon or another planet in
order to collect information or for
communication and then transmit those signal
and information back to Earth. Each has its
specific job for why it was launch.

Very cool right?

but its not real

How Satellite get into Space?

A satellite is sent into space on the top of a
rocket.
The rocket that is used to launch a satellite is
called a launch vehicle.

This is the rocket

use it to help understand the next slice =)

First stage: lift the launch vehicle
off the ground and launch
Second stage: send satellite into
space
Upper stage: connect to satellite
and fairing
Fairing: protect and make satellite
easier to travel through the
resistance of the Earths
atmosphere

Launch...
When the launch vehicle is out of the earths
atmosphere -> satellite separate from upper
stage -> sent into a transfer orbit (send the
satellite higher into space) -> reach to it desire
orbit height -> take it place in orbit with other
satellite => ready to provide communication to
the public.

The reason why and how Satellite go orbit

after it get out of Earths atmosphere
In this case, the Earths gravity is the
centripetal force which held the satellite and
force it to go orbit when the velocity at which the
satellite is moving is balance to the Earth Gravity
which act on the satellite.
If one force is greater than the other, the
satellite will either fall back to earth or spin off
into space.
If the forces are balanced, the satellite will
remains in a stable orbit around the Earth

How do Satellites work?

Satellite work by receiving radio signals from
sent from Earth and resending the radio signals
back down to Earth.

This is the satellite dish which

is a dish-shaped type of
parabolic antenna designed to
receive electromagnetic
signals from satellites, which
transmit data transmissions or
broadcasts, such as
satellite television.
Basically, it was use to send
and/or receive signals from
communications satellites.

The Use of Satellite:

Different type of Satellites have different type of
jobs once it was launched and stay in orbit.
In other word, the use of Satellite can define by
it types/functions. In this case, it was only
apply for Artificial Satellites

Types of Artificial Satellites?

Types of Artificial Satellite are divided based on
their function, mission and orbit.
There were a lot satellite that similar to the
other, they also have a lot of version and new
upgrade.

Basic Principle Types based on their

function
There are 6 basic principle types of satellite that
divide based on their function.
Research
Communications
Weather
Navigation
Application
Military satellites

Satellite Orbits
A geostationary satellite orbits Earth moves in the same
direction and speed as Earth is spinning, therefore from
Earth, these satellites don't appear to be moving. These
are used for communications.
Polar-orbiting satellites orbit Earth in a north-south
direction from pole to pole, so as Earth spins
underneath, these satellites scan the entire globe strip
by strip. These are used for research.

Research
This satellite goes into outer space and
collects information on whats in space or in
earths atmosphere

Communication
A satellite placed in orbit around the earth in
order to relay television, radio, and telephone
signals

Weather
Weather satellites is up-to-date information about largescale atmospheric conditions such as cloud cover and
temperature profiles. Current weather satellites can
transmit visible or infrared photos, focus on a narrow or
wide area, and maneuver in space to obtain maximum
coverage. example of ...

Navigation
A satellite navigation or satnav system is a system of
satellites that provide autonomous geospatial positioning
with global coverage. Navigation satellites are also used for
distance measurements for instance between buildings.

Application
These are designed to test ways of improving satellite
technology itself. Areas of concern include structure,
instrumentation, controls, power supplies, and telemetry
for future communications, meteorological, and navigation
satellites.

Military Service
Satellites also have been used for a number of military
purposes, including infrared sensors that track missile
launches; electronic sensors that eavesdrop on classified
conversations; and optical and other sensors that aid
military surveillance. These are very similar to weather
satellites but generally with higher resolution cameras and
instead of normal communications equipment, they use
encryption as well. It is not possible to identify the exact number of
these that are military satellites partly due to secrecy and partly due to dual
purpose missions such as GPS satellites that serve both civilian and military

purposes.

Satellite vs Rocket
Both Satellite and Rocket both are very
important, they help us human got our
knowledge about the world like today as well as
being bff with scientific world.
Both of them need to launch and get out of
Earth in order to start their mission.

Their Similarities
Both need to launch into space in order to do
their work
Both collect information and explore our
galaxy then bring those information back to
Earth

Their Differences
Satellite:
stay in orbit after
launched into space
Not only collect and
report information but
also use to
communication,...
Not land to another
planet
Barely [not usually]
carry human

Rocket:
Land to natural satellite
or other planet after
launched into space
Usually only use to
explore and collect
information about
space
Usually [always] people

Can Satellite come back to Earth?

All human-made satellite will fall back to Earth
in the end.
Whether the satellite will fall back to Earth
soon or later is mostly base on it orbit, the
satellite in lower Earths orbit will fall in about
100 years when the satellite farther will fall in
thousand years.
How about Natural Satellite? nah.. I dont think it will

But..Why?
Since objects eventually lose velocity and are
overcome by Earth Gravity.
After a long time orbit around the Earth, the
satellites will run out of it fuel, energy as well as
it technology will become more and more old
and pretty much getting have some problem...

Satellite is important
Satellites are very important, they give us
humans the opportunity to get more knowledge
about the galaxy where we live as well as
connect all of us together no matter how far
were a part, they also help us to know what is
going on in our World in present as well as the
close future.

Interesting Right?
Satellites are very interesting and important.
They are the bodyguard of our Earth, which will
give us more information about what happen
around us as well as connect us together
without care about the distance between us. It
bring every best thing ever to us.

Some Fun Fact about Satellite

- A satellite gets better fuel economy than a
Prius
- If you put data that has been collected from
satellite into DVDs, then it will be nearly 4
times as big as the Empire State Building
