Scaven`ger hunt n. a game in which individuals or teams are given a list of items and must go
out, gather them together without purchasing them, and bring them back; the first person or team
to return with the complete list is the winner.

Instructions
Search for and find the answers to all of the questions below. Answers can be found in your Thing
Around Your Neck study guide booklet, the short story collection, VLE, the internet, or your own
knowledge. You may type or handwrite your responses. 1 point for each question (unless otherwise
stated). The group or individual with the most points at the end of the allocated time is declared
the winner.

1. SETTING: Adichies stories are set in Nigeria, South Africa and USA. Find a
map and paste it here (5 points) Circle the cities: Nsukka, Kano, Lagos (1
point for each)

2. a) Can you name the stories that are set in these cities? (1 point for each)

b) Can you find a quote from the stories which provide an insight into the
settings or find out some facts about the cities themselves? (5 points)
