Dear Medical ICU Management,
I am writing in response to the position of Medical ICU nurse at the University of Utah. I recently graduated from Dixie State University with my Associates and Bachelors Degree in Nursing, and currently work on the Acute Internal Medicine Unit at the University of Utah Hospital. I am excited to further my career as a nurse. I am confidant that my skills are well aligned with the role and that I would be an excellent fit for your unit. After extensive research, and personal experience at the University of Utah Hospital, I have found your unit reflects my own priorities- patient-centered values, safe and uplifting environment, hard working staff, and opportunities to learn. My studies at Dixie State University allow me to hone my nursing skills. During my training at Dixie State University, I was exposed to different fields of nursing such as medical-surgical, emergency, critical care, psychiatric, obstetrics, and pediatrics, which captured my interest. My knowledge of and experience in nursing will make me a great addition to the Medical ICU workforce. My current position has given me great opportunity to grow and develop my skills and patient focused care. I have had to opportunity to serve as a leader on my units scheduling committee, being nominated by my co-workers, where I assist in creating the schedule for the RNs and HCAs. Assisting to create the schedule, assisting the unit educator in completing a unit project, and being involved is something I enjoy and in turn helps me be a leader on my unit. My passion for nursing and improving lives is my drive for this position. I hope to have the pleasure of meeting with you to further discuss my background, qualifications, and interest in this position. Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.
