Letter Tiles

Here are some ideas on how you could

use the following alphabet and/or
number tiles in your classroom:
*Spelling review game: Split your class into small groups. Have
two to three sets of tiles printed out on cardstock, laminated,
cut out, and put into sealable baggies for each group. Have
students find a place in the room to spread the tiles out face
up. Using your weekly Spelling list, choose a word and say it
out loud. The students then race to see which group can spell
the word correctly and in the quickest time, using the alphabet
tiles. When a group has spelled the word, they are to stand.
All other groups are to stop at this time as the standing group
spells the word out loud. If the spelling is incorrect, the groups
are told to resume their spelling until a winner is found.

Practicing Math Facts: One way to use the number tiles,

would be to use them as an interactive desk-work activity.
Students could use these tiles to add, subtract, multiply, or
divide. They could also race to see who gets the correct
response first.
The possibilities are endless!
