Part II: Reflection

CANDIDATE REFLECTIONS:
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)

1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology facilitation and
leadership from completing this field experience?
In this field experience, I was given the opportunity to create a shard vision for my school,
conduct a SWOT analysis, and prepare a vision or action plan based on my SWOT findings.
Throughout this field experience, I learned about how technology integration can be used to
combat many of the obstacles and goals that are found in the SWOT Analysis. I learned the value
of a solid, technology infused vision for the school. I also learned how to conduct a SWOT
analysis so that I can properly plan an action plan for the good of the school.
2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you
be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs, enthusiasm) required of a technology
facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected in Part I. Use the
language of the PSC standards in your answer and reflect on all 3knowledge, skills, and
dispositions.)
This field experience gave me the opportunity to learn how to contribute to the development,
communication, and implementation of a shared vision. I have the skills to contribute to the
planning, development, communication, implementation, and evaluation of a technology-infused
strategic plan at the school and district level. And I believe in advocating for policies procedure,
programs, and funding strategies to support implementation of the plans that have been set forth.
3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or
student learning at your school. How can the impact be assessed?
This Field Experience impacted school improvement by allowing me to sit down with
administrators and outline a technology and school improvement plan for our future. In doing so,
we were able to collaborate on ways to impact student achievement by implementing new
technology into the curriculum. I was also allowed to formulate ways to help the faculty become
more fluent in technology and support their integration of technology into their own classrooms.
All of these initiatives can be assessed by interviews and discussions as well as pre and post test
data.
