Love and hard work of a farmer

A boy once crossed the desert and finally arrived at an ashram in a village. He was told that
the guru was delivering a discourse in the evening and the boy was given permission to attend
it.
That evening, the Guru spoke only about the importance of farming and their work in the
fields.
At the end of the talk, the boy said to one of the other inmates: 'I was really shocked. I
expected to hear an enlightened speech on sin and virtue, but the Guru talked only about
tomatoes and irrigation and things like that. Where I come from, we all believe that God has
created this Universe and that all we have to do is only pray to Him.'
The inmate smiled and said: Here we believe that God has done His part and now it is up to us
to continue the process.'
To forget how to dig the earth and to tend the soil is to forget our Source. Once in our life, we
need a doctor, a lawyer, a policeman. But every day, three times a day, we need a Farmer. It
isnt the Farm that makes the Farmer. Its Love and Hard work, which in the end contribute to
real wealth and above all, Happiness to all.

Staying together
At a time when it was the coldest winter and many animals were dying because of extreme cold, the hedgehogs decided to group
together to keep warm and stay alive.
This way they covered and protected themselves; but the spikes of each one pricked and wounded their closest companions.
Not able to bear the pain, they decided to distance themselves one from the other. But in the process, they began to die, alone and
frozen.
Now they had to make a choice:
1. Either accept the pain caused by the spikes of their companions and continue to live
2. Or disappear from the Earth.
Wisely, they decided to go back to being together. They learned to live with the little wounds caused by the spikes of their
companions in order to receive the heat that kept them alive. This way they were able to survive.
