Task Role Descriptors

Facilitator:
 Keeps the discussion on target and moving along
 Makes sure everyone has an opportunity to
contribute

Recorder
 Writes down major points of the discussion or
anything else important to the group
 Writes so that others can understand notes

Timekeeper
 Makes sure group completes tasks on time

Materials Manager
 Gathers, organizes, and returns all materials necessary for the
group to do a job
 Encourages group to keep materials in good order and not waste
them

Task Master
 Encourages group members to stay focused on the job
 Encourages group members to fulfill the responsibilities of their
various roles

Group Representative/Registrar
 Speaks for the team/group when negotiating with the teacher

Quality Checker
 Checks the criteria for quality work to
make sure group is meeting its targets
