Back to School
Night

Please mark your calendars! Back

to School Night is next Thursday
on September 3rd. We will meet in room 10 at
6:00 pm. See you soon! Meanwhile, if you have
questions, please feel free to email me.

Class Website

Dear Parents,
I have updated and activated our
classroom website:
http://rutheller.net.
This website is designed to provide you with
important classroom information. It will be
updated weekly with the Listening Post,
announcements, and other information as needed.
Before we meet on next week, I would like you to
go to the website and read about general policies
including homework, communication, math facts,
birthdays, Reading Lotto/book reports, Word
Power, spelling, and more. Please feel free to email
me with any questions. We will be spending time on
Back to School Night discussing tips on a smooth
transition from primary to upper grades.

Help Appreciated

Are you willing to help in the

classroom? If so, please look for
the Calling All Volunteers flyer
in Thursdays MESH. Please
check your areas of interest and
return it to school.

Reading Lotto

This year your child will participate in

a
reading program called Reading
LOTTO. This is the way we do book reports in
Room 10. (This is different from the daily Reading
Log that we started last week.) All the information
about this is posted on the classroom website. I will
be introducing this to the students this week.
IMPORTANT: The first Reading Lotto book
report will not be due until September 11. BUT,
you need to start reading right now. You should
use this book for your Reading Log.
