Write a narrative essay about a memory of someone OR something that had an influence on
you when you were younger.

The people who influence you are the people who believe in you.

Everybody has the ability to influence others. Influencing is the natural power of every
human being either for good or bad deeds. Sometimes we influenced somebody unconsciously
or consciously because of our words, behavior or attitude. As we are living in the society, it is
very hard for us to escape from the influence of others, and normally, a transformation will be
revealed after we have been influenced by somebody especially in a relationship. During my
lifetime, there are many people who have influenced me.
However, there is an important person who makes the most influence in my life, my
beloved mother, the woman that carried me for nine months in her womb and went through all
the suffering and pain while delivering me and taking care of me. My mom has given me more
than I need or feel I deserve. My mother is a traditional Malay woman who loves her children
wholeheartedly and patiently. She is not only my mother but also the guide of my path, the path
of my life. Whenever I fall, she helps me stand, whenever I go through bad times or trouble, she
is always behind me, supporting me and love me unconditionally. I love my mother above all
people.
My mother has taught and showed me what the appropriate behavior and attitude are.
When I was a child, she told me a hundred of thousand of stories and her lifes experience.
Love, honest, and respect are the most essential characteristics of her stories, as that that she
really is, a genuine example of whom she really is. She is kind and gentle in dealing with her
children yet very strict and firm when it comes to education and religion. She always treats and
helps everyone with pure heart, either her friends, family, or stranger. For example, when she

sees somebody in needs, she would give a hand immediately. She would never turn her back
from anybody especially her family and neighbors therefore, she has many close friends.

If

there is any feast, she would definitely give a helping hand. She is also good in cooking as well
sewing. Those are the reason why she is my idol and why I have been influenced greatly by
her. I also love meeting and talking to others. If there is anybody who betray or hurt me, I will
forgive them because thats what my mother did and taught me.
Education is not only available in school but also in family. My mother is my lifes
teacher. She always utilizes some tools of natural and some books to educate me. In addition,
my home is liked a little library which has many books inside, but most of them are belonged to
my parents.

Both of them love reading and learning.

My mother seems as if a brilliant,

marvelous book which you can view and know about the whole world from. Although I am still a
little book which possesses only a few of knowledge, I am eager to learn more about everything.
I love reading and learning. My mother made me understand that knowledge is the power or a
gem which we all need to seek for without stopping and resting, and learning is the key of
absorbing knowledge. I am glad that I have an opportunity of learning which is provided by my
beloved mother.
Although my mother always educates me as an honest person, sometimes she would
teach me with tactics and punishment strictly, if I did something wrong. Actually, I always did
something which irritated my mother. For example, I was always tempted by TV program,
especially cartoon, when I was supposed to finish my homework or to study. Then, my mother
would not talk to me in the whole day and ignored me with a cool face after I finished watching
TV. Virtually, this tactics is really effective to a child. After I apologized with a crying face, she
would blame and rebuke me with a high acoustic wave. She forced me to learn from my fault,
and I really did. Also, when I did fighting with other children or treated people in an impolite way,
my mother would ask me the reason and give me some positive advice of cause, with blaming.
I remembered that she did not let me playing during evening time in the whole month after I had
fighting with my best friend Azizah, and this is an extremely horrible punishment to me. All the
punishment and advice of my mother taught me about right and wrong, and I did understand
that I need to change my mind and to be a better person as my mother advised me.
My mother has influenced me deeply on my way of thinking, behavior, and attitude. In
my view, she is a legend. I am proud of being her child because I have learned so much from
her. Those enormous influences of her and all of her lessons are her gift for me. I will always

miss and love her deeply in my heart until I die even though she is not around with me anymore.
