Students will take on roles as volcanologists, geophysicists, and geochemists to educate the public about the potential hazards posed by Mount Rainier volcano. They will create informative presentations, interviews, and documentaries using various formats to explain details like the volcano's type, how increased seismic activity relates to eruption risk, and what past eruptions' deposits reveal about future events. The projects aim to inform audiences like city councils, news viewers, radio listeners, and online viewers about Mount Rainier's nature and risks in an accessible way through different media.

the class.
Topic: Will indicate how recent seismic activity at Mount Rainier indicates a possible eruption.
Students must explain the process of volcanic eruptions and how this has an effect on the
increase in earthquakes.

Directions:
1. Students will research information on seismic activity and how it relates to volcanic
eruptions.
2. They will write out scripts that they will use to conduct an interview.
3. One student will be the Geophysicist, one the video recorder, and the other is the T.V.
news personality.
4. Students will make a video interview that is between 3 to 5 minutes long that will be
played for the class at the time of presentation.
