Community, Teamwork and Cooperation in Aesops Fables

A fable is a short story, typically with animals as characters, conveying a moral. A moral is a lesson, especially
one concerning what is right or prudent (wise in action or thought), that can be derived from a story. The Boy Who Cried
Wolf is a classic fable in which a boy lies about the presence of a wolf to gain the attention of the villagers. The moral of
this fable is that a liar will not be believed, even when s/he speaks the truth.
Directions: In your groups read the following fables. Discuss what each fable reveals about community, teamwork, or
cooperation?. Which traits (loyalty, honesty, patience, equity, etc.) are needed to create a healthy community, an efficient
team, or allow for meaningful cooperation (working together).
