Student Council Application


For Freshmen
Timeline:
September 1st Interest Meeting in R4183:45-4:10pm
September 4th Packets DUE to Ms. McGlothin (B-221), Ms. Adams (B120), or Mr. Tyler (R418)
September 4th Sign up for Interview time at TINYURL.COM/FRESHMEN15
September 8th-15th Campaign All materials MUST be removed from the halls by 4pm on 9/15!
September 8th and 10th Interviews after school in Room R418 (Required for all applicants)
September 15th FRESHMAN PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT ELECTIONS DURING LUNCH
(Results posted outside B221/B120/R418 after school)

September 15th New Freshman Student Council members will be announced.


September 21st First Full Council Meeting -- Immediately afterschool

Campaigning is allowed, however if inappropriate material is used your name will not be on the
ballot. You may NOT use stickers to campaign; you may NOT campaign as a group. Some
acceptable forms of campaigning include buttons, flyers, posters, and distributing
cookies/brownies at lunch. No CYBER Bullying!
If you have a question about something that is allowed or not allowed-ASK MS. MCGLOTHIN, MS.
ADAMS, OR MR. TYLER!!

Requirements for Freshman Student Council


Participants:
Class Officers Must:
Have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA at the time of application.
Maintain a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA. If the GPA drops below a 3.0, you will be placed
on probation for one semester. If your GPA remains below a 3.0 beyond the probation
period you will be removed from office.
Not been suspended for anything other than a tardy at the time of application.
Not be suspended for anything other than a tardy at any time during office. Based on the
degree of suspension you may face a probationary period or immediate removal from
office subject to Student Council sponsor discretion.
Must accumulate 100 meeting points and 200 Service Points by the end of the year. 50 of
these meeting points must occur before Winter Break or you will be placed on probation.
If you are removed from office due to absences, you will not be allowed to run for office in
the following year.
Participate in all student council events.
Members-At-Large Must:
