Eul Serving Cell Users Adm

This document discusses parameters for admission control of E-DCH users on a serving cell. It defines the eulServingCellUsersAdm parameter as the admission threshold for the number of E-DCH users per cell, including both 2ms and 10ms TTI users. It also defines the maxNumEulUsers parameter as the maximum number of serving E-DCH users allowed per cell. The document then provides current parameter values for a DTN network and suggests increasing the values to improve performance and reduce E-DCH denied numbers. It justifies this by showing historical statistics of users reaching maximum levels and a relationship between denied users and RAB failures. Case studies then demonstrate improved KPIs after increasing the

EulServingCellUsersAdm

Parameters Introduction
eulServingCellUsersAdm: Admission threshold for the number of E-DCH users
having this cell as serving cell. Includes both 2 ms TTI and 10 ms TTI users.
RN Admission Control must reject an EUL user, requesting the cell as serving
cell if the total number of serving cell EUL users including the requested is above
eulServingCellUsersAdm parameter.
maxNumEulUsers: The maximum number of Serving EUL users allowed per
cell.
If license key 'Number of EUL Users per Cell' is enabled and Licensing
Emergency Unlock is not activated, maxNumEulUsers cannot be set to a higher
value than the license key allows. If the license key is disabled, maximum 4 EUL
users are allowed per cell. If Licensing Emergency Unlock is activated, maximum
96 EUL users are allowed per cell.

Parameters Suggestion
Current DTN network
eulServingCellUsersAdm = 32;
maxNumEulUsers = 32;

Suggestion:
For better network PS performance and reduce EUL Denied No.
eulServingCellUsersAdm = 46;
maxNumEulUsers = 48;
For eulServingCellUsersAdm , we put less value compared with
maxNumEulUsers to reserve the necessary resource for handover

Justification of changing
parameter
Majority of the EUL establishing failures are pegging on
pmNoOfNonHoReqDeniedEul , that means not enough
user adm for EUL.
From the historical statistics , the hourly eul user number
for the worst sites always reach maximum during busy
hours.

Justification of changing
parameter
From following table , we can get the relationship between
pmNoOfNonHoReqDeniedEul and EUL RAB failures .

After the CR implementation , pmNoOfNonHoReqDeniedEul disappeared

and the EUL CSSR has been improved obviously. Below is BKK0187 KPI

For the other performance , there was no degradation found , UL RSSI

maintained as a acceptable level , the CDR maintained , CSSR
