Dear Parents,
Congratulations! Your little ones have grown and have successfully finished the first week
of Kindergarten! Ms. Reem and I have had lots of fun with the kids this week and we are
totally looking forward to another great week with them. Kindly find below a brief about
what we will be doing this coming week:
Literacy Inquiry:
We will be reading some great books: Cliffords First Day School, Going on a Bear Hunt,
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, and The kissing hand.
We will be learning how to use scissors and glue sticks. We will be doing some tracing
activities, some name recognition activities and many more fun stuff.
Math Inquiry:
We will be introducing Unifix cubes and bear counters.
We will read Five Little Monkeys and use the books monkey puppets for counting to
learn about one to one correspondence 1-5 and many other activities.

Unit of Inquiry:
-Learner Profile: Thinker, Communicator.
Our first Unit of Inquiry is How We Organize Ourselves.

Central Idea: Systems help us live and learn together.


-Activities include : Introduce What is a system? Why do we need systems? And we will discuss the different systems we have around our school.
