Design Brief : Water Filter

Problem Statement:

Many third world and impoverished countries suffer from a


lack of clean drinking water. This results from runoff water,
erosion, and pollution. This compromises the cleanliness, or
turbidity, of the water, potentially causing waterborne illness.

Design Statement:

Our goal in this project is to create a water filter that will


successfully purify water to a turbidity less than five while
being compact enough and cost effective enough to allow
for purchase in third world and impoverished countries.

Constraints:

-limited resources
-cost effective
-small enough to fit in a glass
-light as possible
