Each week different students will be assigned to different jobs

identify who has which jobs during the week. This will be done by
switching clothespins with the students assigned class number. It
will be the students responsibility to have these
completed by dismissal.

Indicating Understanding
I will ask questions throughout the day to help me understand how to
best help. I expect a response in one of three ways.
Thumbs up means I understand and I can!
o Thumbs in the middle means I am not comfortable yet
o Thumbs down means I need a different
explanation!

Moving About the Room

If movement is needed during a lesson or activity, raise two
fingers
o When Ms. K has given permission, it is possible to make a lap
in the back of the classroom.
o During a time of movement it is important to respect other
learning
o If respect is broken (being loud or distracting
others), the student must sit back down for the
remaining time
o

If

Procedures are Not Followed

Determine whether students have learned the procedure or whether they

need further explanation, demonstration, or practice.

Reteach the correct procedure if rehearsal is unacceptable and give

corrective feedback.
Acknowledge the students when the rehearsal is acceptable.
(Wong & Wong, 2009, p. 177)

If Procedures are Still Not Working

If the procedures are still not

working after re-teaching with just a single student, I will sit down with the
student and get to the root of the problem of why they seem to be having
trouble with the procedures laid out for the class. We will discuss ways to
make the procedures easier for them, and if it helps the whole class, I will
adapt the procedures. If the procedure(s) are not working for multiple
students, I will sit the class down and, as a class, we will talk through how to
better suit the needs of the whole group, since each class of students will
be different.
