Overview
ThisdocumentincludesanoverviewofrelevantsettingsinCustomizingforPOandshowswithanexamplehowtocreateanoutputtypeforaPO.

Introduction
Theprintingprogramdoesnotonlyconfesswiththeoutputofpurchasingdocumentsontheprinterbutwithallmethodsofgettingthedocumentstothevendor.Thiscanbeaprintout,butalsosendinga
purchasingdocumentbyfaxorEmail.Thesameprogramandformareusedfortheoutputofseveraldocumentsandprocesses.Thedocumentsthatcanbeoutputare:
Requestforquotation
PurchaseOrder
Contract
SchedulingAgreementDeliverySchedule
Theprocessesthatrequiretheoutputofadocumentare:
Creatinganewdocument
Changinganexistingdocument
Creatinganewdeliveryscheduleforaschedulingagreement

Differentprogramsareinvolvedincreatingandsendingmessages.OurprogramsareSAPMM06E,SAPFM06PandthefunctiongroupsMEPO,MEDRUCKandMEDR.FrombasisitismainlyRSNAST00
andRSNASTED(forEDI).FormoredetailsseetheWIKIpage"Printprocessingprograms".ThemessagedeterminationusesthesameconditiontechniqueasitisusedinPricing.Generallyspeakinga
messagetypeisthesameasaconditiontype,butthetermconditiontypeismoregeneric.Messagesservetosendapurchasedocumentoradunning/reminderofapurchasedocumenttothevendor.
MessagescanbecreatedandsentforRequestforQuotations(RFQ),PurchaseOrders(PO),schedulingagreements,deliveryschedulesandcontracts.Totransmitamessageyoucanusedifferent
medialikeprinter,fax,EDI,EMailorSAPoffice.Tosetupthemessagedeterminationofpurchasingdocumentsyouhavetoassignamessageschematoapurchasingdocument.But,settingupthe
messagedeterminationofpurchasingdocumentsisnotmandatory.Whencreatingorchangingapurchasingdocumentthemessagedeterminationwillbealwaysprocessed.Thesystemlooksupthe
messageschemathatisassignedtothepurchasingdocument.Eachschemacontainsseveralmessagetypes.Themessagetypes,themselves,arelinkedwithconditiontables,whichcontainthe
conditionentries.Foreachmessagetypethereisanaccesssequencethatdeterminesinwhichsequencetheconditionentriesforamessagetypearelookedup.Ifavalidconditionentryisfoundthenthe
messagetypeofthatentrywillbechosen,andamessageinthepurchasingdocumentwillbecreated.Therelevantdataofthemessagewillbetakenfromtheconditionentry,e.g.partner,medium,

MakesurethattheflagsforAccesstoconditionsandMultipleissuingareset.TheflagforMultipleissuingallowssendingmessagesmultipletimestothesamepartner(thisisrelevantforurgings
andreminders).Iftheflagforpartnerindependentoutputisnotset,thesystemallowsonlycertainpartnerrolesforthemessagedetermination.Tocreatechangemessagesproperly,theprogram
FM06AENDandtheformCHANGE_FLAGmustbemaintained.IncaseyouwanttosendamessageviaEmailandprovidepurchasingdocumentspecificinformationinthetitleoftheEmailyouneed
tomaintaintheareaReplacementoftextsymbolswiththeprogramSAPMM06EandformTEXT_SYMBOL_REPLACE.

Defaultvalues

Hereyoucanmaintaindefaultvalue:forexamplethedispatchtimeandthetransmissionmedium.Incaseacommunicationstrategyshallbeused,thishastobeassignedhere.

Thesettingsintheconditionentryalwaysoverrideallothersettingsthatmighthavebeenmaintainedinotherpartsofthecustomizing(seeDefaultValuesinIMG).Viadeterminationanalysis,whichcanbe
foundwithinthemessageoverviewofapurchasingdocument,itispossibletoidentifywhyamessagewascreatedornot.

Incaseweuseamedium1(printoutput)wealsohavetomaintaintheoutputdeviceintheCommunicationsection(SeeKBA1854376)WhenusingFAXorEmailastransmissionmediumpleasemake
sure,thatavalidfaxnumberorEmailaddressinthevendorsmasterdataismaintained.
