Delcam FlexLM Server Setup

This document provides instructions for setting up a Delcam FlexLM license server in either a local or network configuration. For a network setup, the license server is installed on one computer and client programs on other computers. Environment variables must be created on client computers specifying the license server name or IP address and port number from the delcam.lic file. The FlexLM tools are used to configure and start the license server service, and the delcam.log file is checked to confirm successful startup without warnings.

Delcam FlexLM Server Setup

You can make a Local Setup , when Delcam FlexLM Server and all of your Delcam Programs are installed on the same computer
Or you can make a Network Setup, when Delcam FlexLM Server is installed on one network computer (SERVER) and all of your
Delcam Programs are installed on other networks computers (CLIENTS)
In that case you need to create on every CLIENTs computer an Environment Variable:
DELCAM_LICENSE_FILE = 1700@ServerComputerName
Where:
1700 - is a Port (the same as in delcam.lic ). Port mast be opened for connection between Server and CLIENTs computers
ServerComputerName is a real name (or IP-address) of computer with Delcam FlexLM Server running
1. Delete any PAF licenses (if exist) from your computer
2. Copy folder Flex to C:\Program Files\Delcam\
3. Run ..\Flex\lmtools.exe
4. Select Configuration using Services > Config Services

For Service Name type Delcam


Browse to files lmgrd.exe, delcam.lic and delcam.log
Select Use Services and Start at Power Up
Click Save Service
Open folder Start/Stop/ReRead

10. Click Start Server

11. Be sure that Server Start Successful

12. Close lmtools


13. Create an Environment Variable:
DELCAM_LICENSE_FILE = 1700@ServerComputerName
Where:
1700 - is a Port (the same as in delcam.lic ). Port mast be opened for connection between Server and CLIENTs
computers
ServerComputerName is a real name (or IP-address) of computer with Delcam FlexLM Server running.
You do not need to create this Environment Variable on every CLIENTs computer but only on SERVER computer!

14. Open delcam.log. Be sure that Server is started and there are no warnings about Unsupported Features.
Attention! ServerComputerName mast be a real name (or IP-address) of computer where Delcam FlexLM Server is
running
